Another woman at Hyatt under attack!

My name is Sonia Ordonez, and I have worked at the Hyatt Regency Chicago for 6 years as a cook. I'm proud of the work I do, but in recent months I have spoken out when Hyatt has mistreated us. At Hyatt, we struggle daily with an employer that injures our bodies and treats us like we are disposable. I have shared my story with countless community leaders, and I have even taken the call for justice to Hyatt's top leaders at an annual shareholder meeting. I have stood up for myself, and now I find myself under attack. Last week, Hyatt fired me, claiming I missed the last few minutes of my shift, when all my work was completed. A lot of my coworkers do this, and to my knowledge no one has ever been fired for it.. Help Sonia get her job back. Take action!

Tell Hyatt CEO Mark Hoplamazian to reinstate us with back pay now

Martha Reyes came to work and found men laughing at pictures of Hyatt housekeepers whose faces were pasted atop bikini-clad cartoon images on the company's bulletin board. Humiliated, Martha Reyes tore down the photographs of her and her sister Lorena. Both sisters were later fired by the hotel. Jobless, both women are struggling to make ends meet, and Martha may lose her home. Now these women have filed retaliation charges with the EEOC. Take action!

Send A Message of Solidarity

In September, thousands of Hyatt hotel workers went on strike in four cities nationwide--Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Honolulu. By taking action, workers are standing up for decent jobs for themselves and their families, but they are also fighting for the right to take a stand with other Hyatt workers against an abusive employer that is destroying  good jobs in their North American hotels. Send them a message of support! Take action!

Tell Hyatt to Stop Abusing Housekeepers!

Hyatt has abused its housekeepers, replacing career housekeepers with minimum wage temporary workers and imposing dangerous workloads on those housekeepers who remain. It's time we turned up the heat on Hyatt and call on the hotel management to stop abusing housekeepers. Take Action!

We want answers on Hyatt's use of heat lamps against striking workers

On Thursday, July 21, the Park Hyatt hotel in Chicago endangered the lives of picketing workers by switching on heat lamps in the hot July sun. Send an email to Hyatt CEO Mark Hoplamazian demanding answers to Hyatt's use of heat lamps against striking workers. Take action!
